I had a similar very positive Panigale experience last week when Andrew Barber helped me out with a couple test rides on some Ducatis for comparison purposes before putting me on the Panigale, which was my main interest.
I have an R1 at the moment and the test rides were part of my research for my next bike purchase (maybe during the next 12 months). Andrew actually helped me out with my R1 purchase back in 2010 at the old CMC shop in Mitchell and knew I wasn't ready to buy now. Nonetheless, he went out of his way to help me with the test rides and didn't rush or put any pressure on me.
If I buy a Panigale or any of the other bikes CMC carry, it will definitely be from Andrew or one of his colleagues.
